"Serve others. The unfailing recipe for happiness and success is to want the good of others."

Desmund Tutu

Let's Stop All the Programs

....and integrate all of these very important, life saving views on what is crucial to our society and people as the standard for all! It is time to institutionalize all these visions brought to our attention through our various programs and bring about a systemic change that makes them all our societal standards.

Programs now tip-toe into our public consciousness with whispered, barely noticed, and/or often much maligned suggestions that our peoples deserve a chance at a healthy future so that they might contribute their gifts to the world. Our programs suggest that all of our children should receive an equal, first rate education. Our children - and everyone suffering with illness - should have health care. Families should have a pathway out of poverty. Black and brown boys and girls should have opportunities equal to their white and wealthier brothers and sisters. Physically, emotionally, and sexually abused children should have competent advocates to bring their dysfunctional families down a healing path. Prisons should be places of healing and rehabilitation. Children should be offered early diagnosis of brain problems as part of well-baby checkups so that healing intervention can begin in infancy. Education can reach out to families so that parents learn to participate with their children's growth in effective ways. Violence can be curbed if we understand its root causes. Compassion and kindness should become a way of life for all.

And on and on... so many good and beneficial ways that we can provide opportunity and hope for all in our world. Great programs are chipping away at societal consciousness to allow us to see all that can be. We start with a vision, develop a program, pass policies, and soon the change is systemic and accepted as the way we all are supported by each other.

When the system is working properly with humanitarian vision and great compassion, we won't need programs any more.
