You should be as vast as the ocean; if somebody takes a bucket out of you, it shouldn't matter. You should be as deep as the ocean; if ten rivers fall into you, it shouldn't matter. You can be like Infinity, but you have to trust in God. The lack of trust in God and too much push of ego make every human miserable.

A MEDITATION
Disharmony Results Eventually In Emotional And Physical Illness. Healing Unfolds From Balance.
One of the most effective ways that we can bring balance to our lives is with meditation.
Most all of us are back on step one of this artificial linear evolution described in the commentary, trying to find healing and balance in our body, brain, emotions, and psyche. For us, it might be helpful, and hopefully helpful for those of you who are a bit further along, to build in an everyday meditative focus for healing and balance.
Punishment is what it feels like when life deals us a harsh blow. But the law of karma says that no one or thing external to us is dealing us this blow. It is the result of our own past actions. That awareness begins to take us on a healing path. Insight, healing and wisdom is when we take the gifts karma also brought to us and create an internal reality and view that is harmonious and radiates the transforming qualities of wisdom.
A focus on the calm flow of breath, a gentle mantra, a peaceful image, harmonic music, a beautiful object or place, a word like "love", or an emotional state such as "peace", "compassion", or "gratefulness" all bring balance and harmony to the body, brain, emotions and sense of self. A focus on anger, fear, revenge, and hatred create imbalance.

Dhammapada Verse: Punishment

Some thoughts about this Dhammapada Verse: Punishment
Or - my title would be: IT'S ALWAYS KARMA!
If we unenlightened folks could remember that IT'S ALWAYS KARMA! and, until we are enlightened, everything that comes our way in life is the karmic blossoming of seeds that we planted with our past thoughts, words, and deeds, then our experience of punishment would fall away instantly. No one is doing anything to us - good or bad. No thing and no one is punishing us. What we see as Punishment is the karma we created.
The Dalai Lama describes karma as "action" and says that it refers to the act we engage in as well as its consequences. Only those who are enlightened can see the true and subtle workings of karma, but we can have faith that every action carries our motivation and spawns energies that ripple out into the universe. Then they always return to us bearing that same motivation made manifest in a life event. (read more)
